The 32nd edition of the entretiens Jacques Cartier, held November 4 – 6, 2019, in Montreal, was an opportunity for Oncopole, Génome Québec and the CLARA cancer cluster to revisit the association of genomics and artificial intelligence.
The influence of genomics is felt in the treatment of a disease that one in two Canadians will develop in their lifetime: cancer. The characterization of the individual genome in order to make a difference in the treatment of this scourge becomes increasingly accessible, but brings with it the problem of handling large amounts of data. Vital for ensuring the effectiveness of clinical benefits, processing that information can be facilitated by powerful tools that artificial intelligence provides.
Oncopole partnered with Génome Québec and the CLARA cancer cluster to bring together key players in the field and spark exchanges on the promising associations of these two themes. The day also provided an opportunity for several practitioners, executives or academics, in collaboration with patient-partners, to strengthen experiential sharing, in oncology, between France and Quebec.
