As is the case for many research areas, cancer research generates a substantial amount of data. Bioinformatics has become a cutting-edge discipline essential to scientific advances.
Following scientific community consultations, Oncopole has decided to prioritize training of doctoral students in Quebec in this specific research area. To that end, Oncopole has made a commitment to add to the doctoral awards offered by the FRQS in this discipline in 2019.
Applicants from Quebec or from outside Quebec who wish to pursue doctoral training in bioinformatics in a Quebec laboratory and who are studying a cancer-related subject will be offered a $15,000 supplement for the first two years and a $10,000 supplement for the third year.
This amount is in addition to the $21,000 offered annually by the FRQS, which would bring the award to up to $36,000 per year.
- Open to students from Quebec and outside Quebec under the supervision of a Quebec investigator in the area of bioinformatics and cancer
- Application deadline – October 15, 2018
