As with many fields of research, cancer research generates a huge amount of data. Bioinformatics has become a cutting-edge discipline essential to scientific progress.
Following consultations with the scientific community, Oncopole wishes to support the training of doctoral students in Quebec in this discipline. To this end, Oncopole has committed to increasing the number of doctoral scholarships offered by the FRQS in this discipline in 2019.
Candidates from Quebec or abroad who wish to pursue doctoral training in bioinformatics in a Quebec laboratory, and whose subject of study is cancer-related, will be offered a supplement of $15,000 for the first 2 years and $10,000 for the 3rd year.e year.
This amount is in addition to the $21,000 offered annually by the FRQS, enabling students to obtain a bursary of up to $36,000 per year.
