L’Oncopole is pleased to announce the appointment of its new General Manager, Dr Renaldo Battista, who succeeds Maxime Dumais, who ably served as interim General Manager.

With over 30 years’ experience in the scientific field, Dr. Battista has served as President and CEO of the Agence d’évaluation des technologies et des modes d’intervention en santé, Co-Chair of Health Canada’s Advisory Council and Co-Chair of the Canadian Alliance of Provincial Health Research Organizations.

His most important scientific contributions are grouped around three themes: the integration of preventive services, the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines, and health technology assessment. They reflect a sustained interest in knowledge transfer and the creation of links between the production of scientific information and its use by healthcare professionals, managers and decision-makers.

Scientific Director of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) for five years, Dr Renaldo Battista helped create Oncopole. In its third year of existence, Oncopole will be able to rely on its expertise to carry out its priorities: federating and optimizing oncology research in Quebec, facilitating entrepreneurship, promoting innovation and its integration into the healthcare system, and engaging patients.
