Complementary expertise between healthcare professionals and patients is increasingly recognized. As active contributors, patient-partners offer added value through their experiential knowledge.
To fulfill its mission of mobilizing research centers around patients’ needs, Oncopole has recruited 8 people to form its Patients-Partners Committee. They demonstrated a strong commitment to their care and an ability to share their personal experience. The Patients-Partners Committee was first mandated to help the Oncopole team define investment priorities, which led to the launch of the Priority-Patients Competition in collaboration with the FRQS. The aim of this new funding opportunity is to finance research projects likely to have a positive impact on the experience of cancer patients.
