Oncopole, a research, development and investment centre of excellence to accelerate the fight against cancer, announces the departure of its executive director, Stéphanie Lord-Fontaine, who will be leaving on October 19 to pursue new challenges.
Oncopole steering committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Ms. Lord-Fontaine for her dynamic term and all of her accomplishments at Oncopole. Among these, we wish to highlight the launch of the EMC2 and LeadAction-Onco funding competitions. Ms. Lord-Fontaine also initiated multiple key partnerships in the field of oncology.
In the interim, the management of Oncopole will be taken over by Maxime Dumais, Oncopole project manager. Oncopole steering committee will ensure that Oncopole pursues its mission to build on the solid foundation already in place.
Created in February 2017 and made possible thanks to a partnership between the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) and Merck Canada, Oncopole brings together various life sciences partners to accelerate the fight against cancer. Whether in terms of infrastructure, resources or researchers, Oncopole enables consolidation of Quebec forces for the benefit of patients, thanks to a 3-year investment of 15M$ from Merck.
