Adherence, satisfaction and acceptability of telekinesiology interventions in people living with cancer

Adherence, satisfaction and acceptability of telekinesiology interventions in people living with cancer

Home » Funded projects » Adherence, satisfaction and acceptability of telekinesiology interventions in people living with cancer

The aim of this study is to determine whether cancer patients prefer a remote rather than face-to-face physical activity intervention, and whether or not this remote intervention improves their quality of life, sleep and functional abilities. To achieve this, patients with prostate, lung or breast cancer will be recruited and placed in either the remote or face-to-face intervention group. All training sessions will be supervised by kinesiologists specialized in oncology and adapted to each patient. Following the intervention, a series of focus groups will be organized with patients to determine the main barriers and facilitators to their adherence to the program. In addition, the benefits of physical activity on physical and mental health will be analyzed. With these results, we hope to be able to offer patients across Quebec remote interventions to help them during their cancer and identify what they consider to be their main obstacles to staying active.
