Description of the competition (Détails du concours en français)
Oncopole, the MEDTEQ Consortium, the TransMedTech Institute and the Cancer Research Society, in partnership with FRQS, proudly join their strengths to launch this competition to support innovative projects for medical technologies in oncology with high potential for commercialization. Each project should also include an industrial partner(1).
Type of projects
The type of medical technologies eligible for this competition comprise diagnostic technologies (biomarkers and others), imaging and simulation (diagnostic, surgery and others), information and communication technologies (mobile applications, big data applications, personalized medicine), rehabilitation technologies, enabling technologies (bioMEMS, biomaterials, etc) and other cutting-edge technologies. The competition is open to all types of cancer.
Competition objectives
– Accelerate research and development, validation and market access for new medical technologies in oncology
– Have a real impact for the health of patients
– Help commercialize Quebec innovations in medical technologies
Eligible projects
Projects will have to focus on specific clinical needs in oncology and will span from the stage of “formulation of the technological concept” to the stage of “verification in a relevant environment” (TRL2 to TRL5)(2).
Grant amount
The total budget for the proposed projects will have to be between 460 K$ and 700 K$, according the TRL level of the project and its eligibility of TransMedTech funding(1). A minimum of 4 projects will be funded by this program.
Deadline for the letter of intent (LOI): December 11th 2018, 4:30pm
Deadline for the complete application: March 19th 2019, 4:30pm
