On this World Cancer Day, Oncopole would like to thank all those involved in supporting oncology research. The past year has been particularly difficult for all of us, with the COVID-19 pandemic turning our lives upside down. We are more aware than ever of the importance of supporting science. It is vital to continue our research efforts, and to put funding at the forefront. The oncology sector has been particularly hard hit by the health crisis, especially in terms of the healthcare system and care for cancer patients.

Against this exceptional backdrop, Oncopole, together with its partners, has succeeded in pursuing its mission of supporting oncology research, bringing together research, innovation and clinical practice in the interests of patients.

Oncopole, a strategic initiative of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) and Merck Canada, which made an initial contribution of $15 million, is now 3 years old. Thanks to this fruitful public-private partnership, the cluster has made a real difference in the fight against cancer.
